If you have yet to see this film, but do plan to see it at some point, it is my recommendation you make the effort and see it at the cinema while you still can. If you've never seen Inbetweeners before now, not to worry as there is a short explanation at the start of the film as to each of the characters to get the ball rolling for newcomers to the concept.
Its hard to believe, but there is a genuine story to be told here, there's growing up, moving on, and some real character development throughout, it may not be the strongest story told through a comedy film, but it is still an integral part to prevent it falling flatly into the 'watch once, hear the jokes, nothing else there' category.
The story was also written as to play on the stereotypes we have come to expect from films such as these, and as an intelligent device leads the audience down the route of expecting them, then flipping their outcome. Showing some thought actually went in to how to create scenes and play them out, rather than adapting scenes to incorporate punchlines, as many other comedies are somewhat guilty of having done once or twice.
That about wraps up all there is to say. It's a film that is rather difficult to write about, due to its sheer simplicity, however I thought it needed to be expressed that there is more to this film than simple comedy.
As we come to an end though I will say that the film is genuinely hilarious, cringeworthy and entirely accurate (whether you like to admit it or not), which of course translates to everything the original series' managed to be.
And to round off, my favourite moment?....It has to be the bar dance scene, with the trio putting their 'best foot forward' to results that had me in tears.
