Upcoming film trailers

Right, well hello everyone. Now thats over lets get to the stuff we're really here for.

Over the last month or so we've had 3 trailer releases which I consider to be ones to watch when they finally make their way to the big screen.

Batman: The Dark Knight Rises

This film signals an end to Nolan's outings with the Bat, and boy does this film have big shoes to fill. The Dark knight was a perfect formed gem of superhero films, with fantastic casting, fantastic effects, and fantastic scripts. The trailer gives little away, but does show some cinematic shots of falling buildings (Inception vibes galore) which I'm sure is some symbolic metaphor, but we'll see later the time.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

In my opinion the first film was a surprise success of 2009, with the trailer for the sequel offering what seems to be more of the same (which, in this case is certainly not a bad thing). The cast from the first film reprise their roles, with the introduction of Moriarty. For me Robert Downey Jr. was the perfect pick for this role, oozing with arrogance yet intelligence too, and his performance bouncing of Jude Law was flawless. The Trailer showcases more of Sherlock's talents, and has some gorgeously cinematic shots to boot too (exploding tree in slow-mo anyone?)

The Amazing Spider-man

This may not be everyones cup of tea, but it sure is interesting. 5 years after spiderman 3 (2007) its decided to scrap that franchise (from what i can gather they painted themselves into a corner in terms of story and didnt know what to do next) and pursue an entirely different branch of the spiderman 'web' (see what I did there?). This version sees a new parker, in fact an entirely new cast and the scrapping of his love interest Mary Jane, to be replaced with the more feisty Gwen Stacey. The trailer sure does offer some lovely visuals, and looks quite honestly promising, however as a SPidey fan, I'm not yet sold on the casting of Andrew Garfield as the lead, but time will tell. This is due for a 2012 release, and could be the kick up the backside spiderman needs to get him firmly back onto the Silver-screen for years to come.
